Hiya! I know it's been a while. I need to be better at writing blog posts again. Today, I'm going to discuss one of my favorite bands of all time: Queen. Since this is my first blog post about a band, bear with me. I am trying to come up with a uniform look for it like when I post about musicals. I'm honestly writing this as an intro post because I am working on a post where I rank all of the Queen music videos.
So Queen. Another classic rock band I fell in love with in 2013? No. I have been a fan of Queen for most of my life. I really cannot remember a time before I listened to Queen. However, I couldn't name the band members until 2013 when I fell in love with classic rock. I loved Queen before I loved The Beatles. And that's saying something.
Here is the song they're most known for: "Bohemian Rhapsody"
The official original members are:
If I had to choose a favorite member, my heart belongs to Roger. I've always had the biggest crush on him, I'll admit that. However, I love the band as a whole. They are all vital parts. With John's bass and Roger's drums. Brian's amazing guitar solos and Freddie's legendary vocals. It is only TRULY Queen with the four of them.
I am going to include their discography (with the years), but I am only including their studio albums, though their live albums are amazing and I suggest you listen to them.
Discography:
I'm winging this post since it's the first one about a band, so bear with me. They'll probably get better over time.
Queen has always been in my top 5 favorite bands of all time. They've moved up and down the list, but they've always stayed within the top 5. They are so good! They are legends and I believe that they deserve The Greatest Band in the World title over The Beatles. I get that The Beatles are great, I was obsessed with them for two years, so I know, but I've always loved Queen's music more than The Beatles'. I don't know why.
Favorite Song: "The Invisible Man" from The Miracle
Lease Favorite Song: I, honestly don't have one. To me, every Queen song is a jam.
Rate Out of 10: 20/10 would recommend.
I was never a fully invested fan until now. And I think it's because the Bohemian Rhapsody biopic is shooting and we are getting photos of Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury. I have been a fan of Rami Malek since I saw him in Night at the Museum and I am really excited to see him play Freddie because I know he will do a great job.
I know currently, Queen (Roger and Brian) are touring with Adam Lambert on vocals. I thought I'd put my honest first reaction on this blog because I have not seen anything with Adam singing Queen yet, so let's see if he's any good. I'm an Adam Lambert fan, so of course, he's good, but I want to see if he is half as good as Freddie.
To be honest, I fell into a hole of Queen + Adam Lambert videos and I just crawled out. He is so good and I am sorry that I ever doubted him. Of course he's not Freddie, no one will ever be as great as Freddie. However, Adam is really good.
Stay tuned for my ranking (and commentary) on every Queen video! It'll be coming soon!
