Fangirl Friday: Priyanka Chopra Jonas

Heyo! Happy Friday! Today's subject is, in my opinion, the most beautiful woman in the world and an actress I very much enjoy watching, Priyanka Chopra Jonas

Priyanka Chopra Jonas as Nadia Singh, Citadel

=Remember when I said I'm a fan of the ENTIRE Jonas family? I truly meant it. Priyanka first came to my attention when she was in Quantico. I didn't watch the show while it aired, but I kept seeing her pop up in magazines in the supermarket, and I started crushing on her. I mean look at her. She is drop-dead gorgeous. I knew OF her for years, but I'll be so real, I didn't really become a fan of for her work at first. I became a fan when she married Nick Jonas, who, if you've been following this blog for a bit, you know I absolutely adore. Due to most of her work being in Indian Media, I have been unable to find a large chunk of her roles because I am just an American living in a country that only started appreciating foreign media in the last few years.

Honestly, I didn't see any of her work until 2020, but I've been hooked ever since. Her first role I saw was as Ms. Granada in We Can Be Heroes. I didn't even know she was in the movie when I decided to watch it. I was at the height of my Pedro Pascal fixation when I watched it. I'll be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of her performance after my first viewing, but she grew on me as I rewatched the film a few more times.

Priyanka with daughter, Malti Marie,
and husband, Nick Jonas, 2023

I feel the need to say I had no idea she had taken the Jonas name after marrying Nick until the credits rolled on We Can Be Heroes because why would she take his name when she's a well-established actor of her own merit? But seeing that she took the family name, it made me happy. Watching Priyank and Nick with their little family warms my heart. I could spend a whole post rambling about their family, but I will spare you this time.

I didn't see any of her other work until 2023 when the Jonas fixation part ii: electric boogaloo hit because I was trying to go through the entire Jonas family filmography. Hers included, obviously. I had been wanting to watch Citadel since I first saw the trailer for it, and when I did, I was HOOKED! I ended up binging the entire first season in one sitting and I regret absolutely nothing. I love it and have rewatched the season a few times. Priyanka plays Nadia Singh, a kickass international spy whom I would die for. I just showed my mom the show and she is also hooked on it. I am dying for season two. I love this universe so much. This role is definitely what made me fall in love with her as an actor. She is so fun to watch, especially her fight scenes.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas

The next film of hers I watched was Love Again, which I absolutely loved. I am not a huge fan of romcoms, but I actually enjoyed this one. I thought it was cute and fun. Her performance as Mira Ray was so good against her co-star, Sam Heughan. The film deals with moving on and finding love again after losing a partner tragically. Nick also has a cameo as one of Mira's dates gone wrong. Their scenes together are iconic. Mira Ray forever lives rent free in my head. I would recommend the movie to anyone. I recently rewatched it, falling in love with it all over again.

Then I watched Quantico, the show that put Priyanka on my radar in the first place. I've rewatched the show so many times. She portrays kickass hero, Alex Parrish, who has become one of my favorite fictional characters of all time. A good complex female character is always fun, especially when done well. Alex could potentially get a Fangirl Friday of her own at some point because I am in love with her. I wish Quantico got more seasons, but I think Alex got a pretty good ending and I am content with that. I do still vehemently hate Ryan Boothe, but that's for another post.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas as Noel Bisset

Most recently, she starred in Heads of State along with Idris Elba and John Cena. Again, Priyanka played an absolute badass. She was the knight in shining to Elba and Cena's damsels in distress. Her character, Noel Bisset, is an MI6 agent and is iconic. The movie is a fun watch, and I highly recommend it. Similar films have always portrayed the female lead as just a romantic interest, but her role in this film, she was so much more and pretty important to the story.

Can't end this post without talking about how well of a narrator Priyanka is. I've only seen Tiger, but I absolutely loved it. I hope she does more narrations in documentaries. Her voice is great for it, and it added to the visuals and the writing. She didn't just read words from a script, she gave real emotion. If you've seen the documentary, you know there are more than a few emotional bits. I believe she has at least two more documentaries that I definitely need to check out, but now she's become an actor I will keep up with regularly.

Priyanka and Malti Marie Chopra Jonas

I definitely need to see her roles in Indian media, and I will gladly check them out if I can find them. I love foreign media and think most, if not all, of them are always well done than American media. So I imagine when I finally do see those roles, I will enjoy them. If you have any ideas of how I can find said roles, please let me know. I just want to go through her entire filmography.

She also has been featured on a few songs and has quite a bit of a music career. It's a part of her career I've yet to explore. Might have to add her to my playlists.

This was a short one, but I hope you enjoyed me rambling about Priyanka. I cannot wait to see more of her work and appreciate her more as an actor. I would love to see her work with her husband more. I am very much looking forward to the next season of Citadel, but until then I will probably rewatch season one for the umpteenth time. I will probably make a post ranking my favorite roles of her once I've explored more of her filmorgaphy.

Why Blue is the Real Villain of Blue's Big City Adventure

Okay, so maybe "villain" isn't the right word. Blue is more like the antagonist. This post is about the Blues' Clues & You movie Blue's Big City Adventure. So there will be spoilers. If you have Paramount+, it's only an hour watch. I promise it is worth the watch if you have watched Blue's Clues in any capacity. Blue's Big City Adventure poster If you were born in the 90s or early 2000s like me then you most likely watched the original Blue's Clues show hosted by either Steve (Steve Burns) or Joe (Donovan Patton). I have an older and a younger brother, so I got to experience both. However, MY host was Steve, and I am a Steve fan til the day I die. I have Blue's Clues & You playing in the background as I write this post because I realized I haven't watched a single episode of the new series despite watching the movie 6 times. I cannot stress enough how much I love Blue's new design. She looks so much fluffier. The original Blue...

Fangirl Friday: Deleasa

Heyo! Happy Friday! It's that time of the week when I ramble about someone I love! Today's subject is DJ and producer, Deleasa. His name is Mike Deleasa and while I normally refer to my subjects by first name in these posts, I will be referring to him by his stage name, Deleasa. NOW to understand how I became a fan of Deleasa, we have to go all the way back to 2012, when Kevin and Danielle Jonas' reality show, Married to Jonas  premiered. I bet you're wondering what does this guy have to do with the Jonas Brothers? Deleasa is actually Danielle's brother, making him Kevin's brother-in-law. He was featured in the reality show and I ended up falling in love with him. He was actually my parasocial "rebound" from Joe. You can read all about my parasocial breakup with Joe in my Fangirl Friday about him . But enough about the Jonas Brothers. That's not why we're here. Plus I've already written 30k words about them on this blog. However, I am for...

That Time Rod Stewart Found Other Ways of Doing Cocaine

Heyo! Happy Monday! This week's That Time... is a doozy. If you're a classic rock fan or a fan of Rod Stewart, you probably know exactly what this post is about. This one is a short one, but an interesting one. So bear with me. Of course need to put a warning about drug use. There are plenty of other posts that you are more than welcome to check out if this isn't your thing. If you are unfamiliar with Rod Stewart, let me introduce you to the ICON! He's a rockstar who also has a few pop bangers. I grew up with his music and can't remember a time in my life without his music. The first song I think of when he pops into my head is "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?" . I know it's the most basic song of his, but I have fond memories listening to the song on the radio when I was a kid. He's also dabbled in a few bands, but I am more familiar with his solo work than his bands. Though check out his band, Faces. In 2012, Rod released his autobiography, Rod: The A...
