My Thoughts on Action Point

I know I keep talking about writing a post about the Jackass movies, and I am working on it, but I want to get it perfect because as dumb as it may seem those movies mean a lot to me.

Everything I say in this post is said with love and respect. I did genuinely love the movie but I'm honest.
After screaming about the movie on every social media as soon as I heard about it non-stop, I FINALLY got my hands on Action Point and I finally watched it. I admit I am biased because I love Johnny Knoxville and that man can release a movie of anything and I would support it.

If you're friends with me on Facebook, you remember me posting about Action Point every single day for the first half of 2018. I posted every teaser and trailer. I posted every single interview I watched for it. I had no chill. I have been waiting for another movie with the same chaotic energy as the Jackass movies since Bad Grandpa.

Action Point is a comedy about a man who runs a very dangerous theme park. I never get into the plot on my movie posts so I won't get into it too much. But the movie is hilarious.

But I loved the movie so much. I knew I was going to love it, but it exceeded my expectations. I hate that it was reviewed so low. This movie is not an Oscar-worthy movie. I don't think it was made to be anywhere near Oscar-worthy. So keeping that in mind, I don't think it's fair that it only has three stars. I think this movie was made with the intent to make people laugh.
It is a very enjoyable movie. It's funny. The writing was shockingly really good. I went into this movie with my standards set at a reasonable middle ground. I was not going to judge it as I would judge most other movies I watch. My standards were somewhere between the Jackass movies and Red Lights (which to me is almost the perfect movie) but leaning more towards the Jackass movies for good reason.

I was honestly expecting Bad Grandpa, but with a better budget and more production. And it was that and much more.

As I mentioned, the writing was a lot better than I was expecting. I wasn't expecting a decent plot and decent dialogue. I came in with the mindset of, I'm going to watch Johnny Knoxville and Chris Pontius get knocked around and get very injured. But it had a good writing. I wish there was a little more character development, but for the length it was, I enjoyed it.

I did tear up towards the end in the scene between DC (Knoxville's character) and his daughter at the diner. The first time in the fifteen(ish) years I've been a fan of Johnny Knoxville that he made me get emotional.

And yes, I have been a fan of Johnny Knoxville since I saw Men In Black II for the first time. I have had a weird crush on him ever since. And I say "weird" not because it's a weird crush to me - I've had weirder crushes - but because whenever I mention him as a celebrity crush to ANYONE they always look at me like I'm nuts. I do consider him a hero of mine. Not hero like how I feel about Brendon Urie, but hero as in my brain associates him with happiness so I consider him a light when I am in dark times.

I'll most likely write a longer post about him to further elaborate on the paragraph above, but I loved his role in Action Point. DC is a dad trying to hold on to his daughter as much as he can. I really loved how he played a dad as young DC and a grandfather as old DC. He was just so hilarious in his role, which is expected.

Chris Pontius was also hilarious. He played DC's best friend, Benny. He's like the clueless sidekick in this movie. I love that they kind of included a romance storyline with his character, but it wasn't a cliche. I didn't hate it, as I hate most unnecessary romance storylines. He played his character well and he delivered an iconic performance in my opinion.

I think the whole cast was great. I just wish some of the other characters had more developed personalities. They were a bit forgettable and I JUST watched the movie. It's not a fault of the actors, it's a flaw in the writing.
If you were ever a fan of the Jackass movies, I highly recommend this movie. If you want a comedy that's easy to get through, watch this movie. It's so good.

Again, I am biased. It could be the worst movie ever made, but I still loved it. But you shouldn't judge entertainment on other people's opinions.

I don't see any reason why anyone would dislike this movie.

That's it for this post. I promise the Jackass one is coming. It's going to probably be super long and it might be a bit sappy because I do credit the Jackass movies for saving my life in the past 2 years. So you have that to look forward to. Maybe next week. Maybe next month. Maybe next year. BUT IT IS COMING!

Zac Efron and Garrett Clayton are Basically the Same Person

I, a 21-year-old adult, is still a HUGE fan of the High School Musical franchise. In high school, had I been a better planner, I would have asked Lucas Grabeel to be my prom date. And even though I was older than most viewers, I did love Teen Beach Movie when it came out. In this post, I am going to explain how Zac Efron and Garrett Clayton are basically the same person. Let's start at the beginning. You may know Zac Efron as Troy Bolton in the Disney Channel Original Movie (or DCOM), High School Musical and it's franchise. He is the attractive blue-eyed, protagonist of all three HSM movies. And I will admit that I was a huge fangirl for him in my youth. Honestly, now I can't stand him. But that's for another post. Zac portrayed Troy in all three HSM films, but he only sang in the last two. That's right. Zac Efron did not sing in the first HSM movie. That was the amazingly talented Drew Seeley whom I will love till the day I die. Similarly, Garrett Clayton pl

Is Marvin from Falsettos Abusive? And Why is He Such an Easy Character to Hate?

Is Marvin abusive? Short answer: yes. Long answer: You've come to the right place. "I love my tight-knit family. I love the way they cook linguine." Let's get this out of the way, this blog, as all of my blog posts are, is 100% my opinion. Unless stated directly that it is fact, this is all what's going on in my mind. Thoughts from a fangirl, if you will. Also I have to use Spotify to link the songs, because the entire 2016 revival cast album is not on YouTube and I know the revival album better than the original albums. Also this post is going to be long because I'm actually going through actual lines from the musical. I am going to try to sprinkle some photos into this post. "Lovers come and lovers go." Listen to "Marvin Hits Trina" on Spotify. Let's start with the most obvious: Marvin hits Trina after learning that she's going to marry Mendel. Where can you find this scene? In "Marvin Hits Trina". It'

That Time A President Conducted Meetings from the Toilet

Happy Monday! Another week ahead. This week's weird moment from history is how President Lyndon B. Johnson conducted meetings and interviews while on the toilet. I learned way too much about LBJ while doing research for this post and it is going to be a LONG time before I write another weird history post about him. But there will be at least another one in the future. Man was weird. Quick history lesson for my non-Americans who may not know who LBJ is. Lyndon Baines Johnson was the 36th President of the United States. He assumed the position following the assassination of John F. Kennedy. He was president from 1963 til 1969. NOW if you're like me and you grew up with the rewatching the movie Forrest Gump over and over again your first introduction to LBJ might be when Forrest was being honored with the Medal of Honor and showed the president where he was "shot in the buttocks" during the Vietnam War.  I haven't watched Forrest Gump in years, but if you haven't
