My writing is back! Kind of. I won't post as often as I used to, but whenever I write something I'll share it.
This is just a simple random one-shot that I just started writing.
Words: 468
Sarah sat in her bed, scrolling through her Instagram. She barely remembered last night, but at least she wasn't hungover. A photo of her doing a keg stand grabbed her attention. Her best friend posted it. Of course, he did.
"Shit." She opened the comments to see what people were saying about her. Most people were impressed and cheering her on, but then the comment from her pastor father made her smile drop.
JohnMcKenzie68: I shouldn't be surprised and yet I'm still disappointed. Hope no one else from church sees this.
Sarah sat up and called her best friend immediately. Oliver answered after the third ring.
"Christ, Sarah. Don't you know how to text?" He asked, sounding annoyed.
"Delete that picture. Now!"
"Which one?" Oliver laughed. "You became a god last night."
"All of them! God, my dad saw the keg stand photo."
"Yeah, and he wasn't too thrilled about it. Isn't this the fifth time you disappoint your parents? Aren't you on the road to excommunication?" He asked.
"Yes, but I am trying. Can you please delete it, Oli? Pretty please."
"Since you asked, nicely I will delete them, but I am keeping them on my laptop as proof of you being a legend."
"I hate you."
"I know. I hate me too." He laughed. "How are you feeling today? I feel like death, and I woke up with two people in my bed."
"Of course you did."
"We were fully clothed this time. I promise."
"Sure. I feel okay. Don't remember much. It comes in weird flashbacks. I do remember kidding Darren, though. Which was a mistake."
"Yeah, that was messy. But you guys could work out. Again."
"I cheated on him. Sober Darren wants nothing to do with me."
"But drunken Darren wanted to take you home."
"Shut up."
"Fine. What else do you remember?"
"The keg stand."
"And?"
"Talking to Eugene in the bathroom."
"Oh yeah. Everyone thought you were gonna hook up."
"With Eugene? I mean it wouldn't have been the worst thing. I was telling him about Cory and he said I should call Cory and I drunk called my brother."
"Ouch. How do you think mom and dad are going to react?"
"They don't need to know I recommunicated with him. Knowing them, they'd excommunicate me right there and then if I told them."
"When they ever do cut you off, you can come live with me."
"Thanks, Oli."
"Alright, my head is pounding so I am going to hang up and go back to sleep. But thank you for being the life of the party."
"You're welcome, I guess." She laughed. He hung up. Sarah sat up and looked out the window over the campus. She knew she wasn't going to drag herself to classes, so she lied back down.
