Fangirl Friday: Logan Crosby

Heyo! First Friday of the year AND the first Fangirl Friday of 2025! I figured why not write about an artist last year who quickly became a favorite. This week, I am rambling about my country boy, Logan Crosby who ranked in my top 10 artists of 2024 in my SpotifyWrapped!

If you are unfamiliar, Logan Crosby is a new country artist who sings so incredibly. He has won my heart because he's such a sweetheart online with his fans. He's got himself a lifelong fan in me. I found Logan last February when I was binge-watching Claim to Fame. As you may know, if you've been reading the past few posts of this blog, I am obsessed with the Jonas Brothers and their family. So I decided to watch the show hosted by Kevin and Franklin Jonas. For quick context, Claim to Fame is a reality game show where the contestants are relatives of celebrities and if their relative is identified by another contestant, they are eliminated.

HONESTLY, since episode one, I flip-flopped with Logan. A handsome country boy with a nice accent will always win me over, but I had to be very cautious because he made it clear he was a good Baptist boy from a small town in Georgia. I'm a queer, trans, Puerto Rican from New York who has been burned by cute country boys before in real life and parasocially.

Logan first won me over when he performed "If Jesus Was a Cowboy" at the talent show in Claim to Fame. I love this song with my whole heart. I cannot explain what about his voice captivates me the way it has. I just love his voice, his music, and I've come to love him as a fan.

Then in Claim to Fame, they had a fashion show and everyone was assigned a specific item of clothing or accessory. Logan's was a black cowboy hat and I IMMEDIATELY knew his relative was Jason Aldean. I've never been a fan of Aldean, but at least we know talent runs in the family.

Full disclosure: I used to LOVE country music. Watched the CMAs every year with my mom. Luke Bryan was my guy, but when the USA got a lot more politically polarizing with the 2016 election I disconnected with every country artist I previously enjoyed because I didn't want to be disappointed by any of them. But I've been wanting to get back into country music and Logan saw to that. So thanks, Logan!

I further fell for Logan throughout his season of Claim to Fame which I think I watched in three days. After I finished, I looked him up on Spotify and I have been hooked ever since, I've kept up with his career and got to see him release his first album last September. He's really hands-on with his fans and seems to be very appreciative of the people who support him, which I absolutely love. I think that's going to help him become very successful.

As of the time of writing this post, my favorite song of his is "After All" but it changes every so often. I'm kind of glad I caught him toward the beginning of his career and will continue to support him as long as I can. I'd love to see him live one day

If you end up becoming a fan of his after this post PLEASE follow him on TikTok - assuming TikTok didn't get banned in the USA (I'm writing this in December). He posts covers on his account and he always knocks them out of the park. But I admit I may be biased because I am absolutely entranced by his voice.

I PROMISE there will be a Kinda Review of his debut album, 2019, but I cannot give an ETA when I'll write and post it.

NOW in the not-so-impossible case of Logan coming across this post and reading it: Hi! Happy New Year! Hope you and your family are doing well. Thank you for making incredible music. Thank you for getting me back into country music. I am truly a fan of yours. I meant it when I commented on your TikTok that despite having left the church, I would listen the hell out of a gospel album if you released it. Can't wait to see what the future holds for you. I know you JUST released your debut album, but I'm already hyped for your next project.

Please check out Logan's music. I know country music is an acquired taste for some, but give him a chance. He deserves a chance and he just might win you over.

Zac Efron and Garrett Clayton are Basically the Same Person

I, a 21-year-old adult, is still a HUGE fan of the High School Musical franchise. In high school, had I been a better planner, I would have asked Lucas Grabeel to be my prom date. And even though I was older than most viewers, I did love Teen Beach Movie when it came out. In this post, I am going to explain how Zac Efron and Garrett Clayton are basically the same person. Let's start at the beginning. You may know Zac Efron as Troy Bolton in the Disney Channel Original Movie (or DCOM), High School Musical and it's franchise. He is the attractive blue-eyed, protagonist of all three HSM movies. And I will admit that I was a huge fangirl for him in my youth. Honestly, now I can't stand him. But that's for another post. Zac portrayed Troy in all three HSM films, but he only sang in the last two. That's right. Zac Efron did not sing in the first HSM movie. That was the amazingly talented Drew Seeley whom I will love till the day I die. Similarly, Garrett Clayton pl...

Is Marvin from Falsettos Abusive? And Why is He Such an Easy Character to Hate?

Is Marvin abusive? Short answer: yes. Long answer: You've come to the right place. "I love my tight-knit family. I love the way they cook linguine." Let's get this out of the way, this blog, as all of my blog posts are, is 100% my opinion. Unless stated directly that it is fact, this is all what's going on in my mind. Thoughts from a fangirl, if you will. Also I have to use Spotify to link the songs, because the entire 2016 revival cast album is not on YouTube and I know the revival album better than the original albums. Also this post is going to be long because I'm actually going through actual lines from the musical. I am going to try to sprinkle some photos into this post. "Lovers come and lovers go." Listen to "Marvin Hits Trina" on Spotify. Let's start with the most obvious: Marvin hits Trina after learning that she's going to marry Mendel. Where can you find this scene? In "Marvin Hits Trina". It'...

That Time A President Conducted Meetings from the Toilet

Happy Monday! Another week ahead. This week's weird moment from history is how President Lyndon B. Johnson conducted meetings and interviews while on the toilet. I learned way too much about LBJ while doing research for this post and it is going to be a LONG time before I write another weird history post about him. But there will be at least another one in the future. Man was weird. Quick history lesson for my non-Americans who may not know who LBJ is. Lyndon Baines Johnson was the 36th President of the United States. He assumed the position following the assassination of John F. Kennedy. He was president from 1963 til 1969. NOW if you're like me and you grew up with the rewatching the movie Forrest Gump over and over again your first introduction to LBJ might be when Forrest was being honored with the Medal of Honor and showed the president where he was "shot in the buttocks" during the Vietnam War.  I haven't watched Forrest Gump in years, but if you haven't...
