Just Checking In

Heyo! How are you? I hope that the first couple of weeks of 2023 has been treating you well! I wanted to do my first "housekeeping" post of 2023. Mostly because I didn't have anything else to post today and I need to keep in the groove of things.

I am going to keep this post as short as possible because I am writing this 15 hours before it has to go up. I was unprepared.

As you can tell, I am back! I've posted seven times already! Feel free to check those posts out if you haven't already. I am not trying to post daily, because as we've seen in the past I am not good at that and I get burned out very quickly.

So the schedule is as follows, I will post three times a week:

  • Monday - "That Time..."
    • I find a random interesting fact from history, do some research and write about it.
  • Wednesday - Misc.
    • Wild card. Anything is game. Where any future "Kinda Review" and ranking posts will go.
  • Friday - "Fangirl Friday"
    • I focus on someone I love and admire and I just write about them as a fan. In the past it has only ever been celebrities, but I have now added fictional characters.

I will no longer be doing "Casually Screaming". Those posts will become "Fangirl Friday". I will continue my "Kinda Review" posts about whatever piece of media takes my fancy. I have one planned for an upcoming album from one of my favorite bands. Of course, the "My Top x" ranking posts will also continue.

I figure posting three times a week is frequent enough while also giving me time for my fictional writing without my brain completely crashing and burning. Burn out is why I have never successfully posted actively on this blog. I would like at some point to be able to make a living blogging, but I am nowhere near that right now.

However, with that being said, I am not going to beat myself up if I miss a day like I used to. You can keep up with me on Twitter or my main Tumblr where I will update if I can't post anything as long as I know ahead of time. Though I admit my main Tumblr is a dumpster fire because I post daily and frequently so beware if that is how you choose to keep up with me. On the other hand I barely touch Twitter.

By the way, if you didn't already know, I write fanfiction. I know that it's something some people don't talk about or openly admit to, but I'm not ashamed of my work. If you are interested in reading my fictional writing, I post all of my fanfiction on Archive of Our Own and my writing Tumblr so you can have your pick because people prefer different sites to read! I write for a variety of franchises because my brain cannot just settle on one.

Whether you have been following this blog since 2017, or if you just found it today, thank you for any and all support. Just reading my silly ramblings is support. I write about history and entertainment because they are two things I am passionate about.

Here's to a successful 2023!

Why Blue is the Real Villain of Blue's Big City Adventure

Okay, so maybe "villain" isn't the right word. Blue is more like the antagonist. This post is about the Blues' Clues & You movie Blue's Big City Adventure. So there will be spoilers. If you have Paramount+, it's only an hour watch. I promise it is worth the watch if you have watched Blue's Clues in any capacity. Blue's Big City Adventure poster If you were born in the 90s or early 2000s like me then you most likely watched the original Blue's Clues show hosted by either Steve (Steve Burns) or Joe (Donovan Patton). I have an older and a younger brother, so I got to experience both. However, MY host was Steve, and I am a Steve fan til the day I die. I have Blue's Clues & You playing in the background as I write this post because I realized I haven't watched a single episode of the new series despite watching the movie 6 times. I cannot stress enough how much I love Blue's new design. She looks so much fluffier. The original Blue...

Fangirl Friday: Deleasa

Heyo! Happy Friday! It's that time of the week when I ramble about someone I love! Today's subject is DJ and producer, Deleasa. His name is Mike Deleasa and while I normally refer to my subjects by first name in these posts, I will be referring to him by his stage name, Deleasa. NOW to understand how I became a fan of Deleasa, we have to go all the way back to 2012, when Kevin and Danielle Jonas' reality show, Married to Jonas  premiered. I bet you're wondering what does this guy have to do with the Jonas Brothers? Deleasa is actually Danielle's brother, making him Kevin's brother-in-law. He was featured in the reality show and I ended up falling in love with him. He was actually my parasocial "rebound" from Joe. You can read all about my parasocial breakup with Joe in my Fangirl Friday about him . But enough about the Jonas Brothers. That's not why we're here. Plus I've already written 30k words about them on this blog. However, I am for...

That Time Rod Stewart Found Other Ways of Doing Cocaine

Heyo! Happy Monday! This week's That Time... is a doozy. If you're a classic rock fan or a fan of Rod Stewart, you probably know exactly what this post is about. This one is a short one, but an interesting one. So bear with me. Of course need to put a warning about drug use. There are plenty of other posts that you are more than welcome to check out if this isn't your thing. If you are unfamiliar with Rod Stewart, let me introduce you to the ICON! He's a rockstar who also has a few pop bangers. I grew up with his music and can't remember a time in my life without his music. The first song I think of when he pops into my head is "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?" . I know it's the most basic song of his, but I have fond memories listening to the song on the radio when I was a kid. He's also dabbled in a few bands, but I am more familiar with his solo work than his bands. Though check out his band, Faces. In 2012, Rod released his autobiography, Rod: The A...
