Fangirl Friday: Franklin Jonas

Heyo! Hope you had a wonderful week! Still going strong with the Jonas Fangirl Friday, but this might be the last one - for now. There are still two people in the family who will get their own Fangirl Friday posts, but I'll write those later. This week's subject is the youngest Jonas brother, Franklin Jonas. Saved the best for last. The most talented Jonas. You may be familiar with his older brothers who formed the band, Jonas Brothers. I have written about all of them. I've written about the band as a whole , and the three brothers, Kevin , Joe , and Nick separately. But this post is not about them. Franklin has nothing to do with the band other than being related to them. Though I wouldn't be upset if we ever get a Jonas Brothers song featuring Franklin. If by some chance Franklin comes across this post: Hi. How are you? Hope you're well. Please keep releasing music because you've got me hooked. Looking forward to the day you become the first Jonas with a Gram...

Fangirl Friday: "Work It Out" by Joe Jonas

Heyo! Hope you're doing well. I have had QUITE the time since I last posted. This post is being written about 8 hours before it has to go up just because I am full of emotions and I need to get them all out. ALSO, this is my 250th post! As the title states, this post is about Joe Jonas' newest song, "Work It Out" off his upcoming album, Music for People Who Believe in Love . I wrote a Fangirl Friday about Joe over a month ago and I very much explained my whole timeline as a fan of his and why he means so much to me. It's a long one, so Godspeed if you decide to give it a read. Long story short, Joe has gotten me through some dark times. I've been a fan for 18 years. He's made me feel seen both with his music and the way I relate to his public "persona". Sometimes he'll do things that will align with me going through the roughest things in my life. The coincidences have very much fueled my parasocial relationship with him. Ironically a lot o...

Fangirl Friday: Nick Jonas

Heyo! Happy Friday! Hope you had a great week. I am still very much in what I have affectionately called "Jonas Hell". Which means these three dorks from Jersey are still in my mind 14/7 and I am only listening to their music. This is month 10 of the fixation and there is no sign of it ever slowing down or stopping. It's a good thing I didn't write and post this when I was originally planning to because my feelings for this man are drastically different now. This week's subject is Nicholas Jerry Jonas, or as you all know him, Nick Jonas. I have found a new appreciation for him as an artist, actor, and overall person. Nick Jonas If by some miracle Nick ever sees this post: Hi, Nick. How are you? Had me lowkey spiraling when you had the flu because I kept waiting for proof of life which we didn't get until you began shooting your movie. Thank you for still trying to perform even when you were clearly feeling crappy. It is appreciated, but I need to say you shou...

That Time Coca-Cola Started as a Wine Cocaine Cocktail

Heyo! Happy Monday! This week's subject is the origin of my favorite soda. I sold my soul to the Coca-Cola company in 2009 and I haven't looked back since. An advertisement for Pemberton's French Wine Coca First, we have to start at the beginning and talk about Coca Wine, which is a wine and cocaine cocktail that was VERY popular. The cocktail was developed in 1863 by Angelo Mariani, who made his Vin Mariani branded coca wine from Peruvian coca leaves and Bordeaux wine. It was all the rage to the point that Pope Leo XIII endorsed it, was sort of a spokesperson for Vin Mariani, and even gave it the Vatican gold medal. I had no idea the Vatigan gold medal was even a thing until I started researching for this post. They had Popes endorsing cocaine wine and we have a Pope saying slurs. NOW that you've got some basic background about the cocaine wine cocktail, let's talk about how it relates to Coca-Cola. In the 1880s, John Pemberton created Pemberton's French Wine ...

Fangirl Friday: Joe Jonas

Heyo! I know it's been a while. Honestly got hit by that seasonal depression AND THEN actual depression. Just got out of my funk finally. This was supposed to come out the week after Kevin Jonas' Fangirl Friday , but that obviously didn't happen. It's coming out MONTHS later. Joe Jonas (2023) The subject of today's Fangirl Friday is perhaps on of if not the most important of my parasocial relationships. The first parasocial relationship I ever had and the longest, most dramatic one. This week's subject is Joe Jonas. I wrote about Joe in Fangirl Friday: Jonas Brothers last yet. I spoke a bit about my 18-year-long parasocial relationship with the man, but I said I'd get more detailed in his own Fangirl Friday post. So here it is. Consider this post kind of an open love letter to him. A thank you for all the times I felt alone in the world, but I could turn to his music. If by some miracle Joe EVER comes across this post: Hi, Joseph. How are you? Hope you...

Kinda Review: The Album - Jonas Brothers

Heyo! Hope your week is going well! This week's Kinda Review is about the most recent Jonas Brothers album, The Album . The Album  front and back cover If I was better at planning, I'd have written and posted this for The Album's  first anniversary last month, but alas I did not. But I have been wanting to write a Kinda Review about it since I heard it for the first time. Even had my little notes from my first listen-through saved to use them, but most of the "notes" are incoherent - as are most of my thoughts about the Jonas Brothers. I love the album so much. These guys just keep getting better with age. As always with these posts I must remind you that I am not a music critic. I am just someone who enjoys listening to music and writing about it. I don't have fancy technical terms. I don't even know what instruments are used. I just know how the music makes me feel. Also per usual, I will try including the Spotify link in the title and the music video or...
