Fangirl Friday: Waterparks

This is the first Fangirl Friday and I am so excited. This "series" will not be every week, just when I'm super obsessed with something or someone.
Three weeks ago today, I discovered this band called Waterparks AND I AM IN LOVE! With their music. I have been listening to their music almost non-stop and I really do love their music. They became one of my favorite bands very quickly.

Also, I have a platonic crush on all three of them. @ Waterparks if you ever see this be my friend. You guys seem like a squad I'd like to be friends with.

I have a few pics for this post in case I can't insert their music videos.

So Waterparks is made up of three members:
Awsten Knight - Lead Vocals & Rhythm Guitar
Geoff Wigington - Lead Guitar
Otto Wood - Drums
LtR: Awsten Knight, Otto Wood, Geoff Wigington
They only really have 2 studio albums but they have some EPs and I would suggest putting their Spotify on shuffle because that's what I've been doing. I'm listening to Entertainment all the way through right now as I write this blog post actually.

Discography:
 EPs:
Airplane Conversations (2012)
Blacklight (2014)
Cluster (2016)
Studio Albums:
Double Dare (2016)
Entertainment (2018)

So let's talk about how I was blessed 3 weeks ago. Awsten Knight, the lead singer, did a video with one of my favorite YouTubers, CrankthatFrank on July 6th. I put off watching the video for almost a month because I didn't know who Awsten was and it wasn't the content I was looking for until the day I finally watched it.
CrankthatFrank and Awten
It wouldn't let me insert their video, but I linked it in the photo's caption. It was hilarious. As soon as they were talking about Awsten's band, I went to his Instagram to check them out. Mostly because I had a crush on Awsten for a hot minute, but also because I trust Frank's music taste more than my own brother's so I figured they had to be good. Also, Awsten has a new hair dye out. Go buy it. You can get Knight Bright Purple at Hot Topic! It's linked!

The first song I heard and the first video I watched was "We Need to Talk" which I can't insert but it's linked in the song's title. And that song made me REALLY like them. I've been wanting to get into more music and specifically anything under the rock umbrella is fair game. I am a smol emo adult.

I found their Spotify page and put them on shuffle and as soon as I have money, you bet I'm buying all their music so I can listen to them when I don't have internet. It happens.
I, being the fangirl I am, then watched a TON of interviews and that's where the platonic crush came in. The three of them are dorks. I like a good band of dorks. Some of the best bands are. And Waterparks is no exception. I mean they call themselves "God's favorite boyband" and they played a boyband in one of their music videos.

I have listened to them so much I can confidently say Entertainment is my favorite album. It's beat Straight Outta Oz (sorry Todrick).
Hands down, without overthinking it, my favorite song is "Lucky People".  I was able to insert it so check it out. The song is adorable and I LOVE the music video. I really post it on Facebook every single day and it beats out "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" by The Proclaimers as my favorite song.

I am a single Pringle who is a sucker for romance. Honestly, the ONLY thing keeping Waterparks from being my favorite band is my favorite band is Panic! at the Disco and they have helped me through hell. However, Waterparks is definitely my second favorite band right now. And I can't wait to see what the future holds for this band.
I don't have a least favorite song, I think all of their songs are well done. Hence why they became my second favorite band quick.

I rate Waterparks a 20/10 would recommend.

I really do love this band and I love their music and this is a band I will continue to support until I don't know. Probably until they stop making music.

It took everything in me to not gush about this band because I got into them in a time that I REALLY needed a pick me up and a distraction for life and they've helped a lot.

So if you guys ever check out this blog first off thanks welcome to my blog. Hi. Secondly, thank you for your music and keep up the good work!
Hopefully, I'll be able to see them, but due to unfortunate financial circumstances, it'll be a while before I ever get to see them live. But for now, I will buy their music and retweet them on my twitter. It's @McCarthaEvita by the way. Follow me if you want. I am active now!

And please check out Waterparks. Their music is so good. Support them. Love them. Cherish them. They deserve it.

Why Blue is the Real Villain of Blue's Big City Adventure

Okay, so maybe "villain" isn't the right word. Blue is more like the antagonist. This post is about the Blues' Clues & You movie Blue's Big City Adventure. So there will be spoilers. If you have Paramount+, it's only an hour watch. I promise it is worth the watch if you have watched Blue's Clues in any capacity. Blue's Big City Adventure poster If you were born in the 90s or early 2000s like me then you most likely watched the original Blue's Clues show hosted by either Steve (Steve Burns) or Joe (Donovan Patton). I have an older and a younger brother, so I got to experience both. However, MY host was Steve, and I am a Steve fan til the day I die. I have Blue's Clues & You playing in the background as I write this post because I realized I haven't watched a single episode of the new series despite watching the movie 6 times. I cannot stress enough how much I love Blue's new design. She looks so much fluffier. The original Blue...

Fangirl Friday: Deleasa

Heyo! Happy Friday! It's that time of the week when I ramble about someone I love! Today's subject is DJ and producer, Deleasa. His name is Mike Deleasa and while I normally refer to my subjects by first name in these posts, I will be referring to him by his stage name, Deleasa. NOW to understand how I became a fan of Deleasa, we have to go all the way back to 2012, when Kevin and Danielle Jonas' reality show, Married to Jonas  premiered. I bet you're wondering what does this guy have to do with the Jonas Brothers? Deleasa is actually Danielle's brother, making him Kevin's brother-in-law. He was featured in the reality show and I ended up falling in love with him. He was actually my parasocial "rebound" from Joe. You can read all about my parasocial breakup with Joe in my Fangirl Friday about him . But enough about the Jonas Brothers. That's not why we're here. Plus I've already written 30k words about them on this blog. However, I am for...

That Time Rod Stewart Found Other Ways of Doing Cocaine

Heyo! Happy Monday! This week's That Time... is a doozy. If you're a classic rock fan or a fan of Rod Stewart, you probably know exactly what this post is about. This one is a short one, but an interesting one. So bear with me. Of course need to put a warning about drug use. There are plenty of other posts that you are more than welcome to check out if this isn't your thing. If you are unfamiliar with Rod Stewart, let me introduce you to the ICON! He's a rockstar who also has a few pop bangers. I grew up with his music and can't remember a time in my life without his music. The first song I think of when he pops into my head is "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?" . I know it's the most basic song of his, but I have fond memories listening to the song on the radio when I was a kid. He's also dabbled in a few bands, but I am more familiar with his solo work than his bands. Though check out his band, Faces. In 2012, Rod released his autobiography, Rod: The A...
