The Greatest Showman

Heyo! Today we're gonna discuss one of my favorite movie musicals, The Greatest Showman. I went to see this movie in theaters, but being the history nerd I was very skeptical. I actually lived in Bridgeport and visited the Barnum museum often. I am a pretty big history nerd. I knew Hollywood probably wouldn't get much right, but regardless of the inaccuracies I really enjoyed the movie.
This is going to go as all of my musical posts go. I will keep is as structured as I can or else I'd write PAGES about how much I love this movie musical.
This is no the complete cast of characters, but I had to limit it because there are way too many characters in this movie. So I included the "main" cast:
Hugh Jackman as P.T. Barnum
Zac Efron as Philip Carlyle
Michelle Williams as Charity Hallett-Barnum
Rebecca Ferguson as Jenny Lind
Zendaya as Anne Wheeler
Keala Settle as Lettie Lutz
Sam Humphrey as Charles Stratton
Yahya Abdul-Mateen as W.D. Wheeler
Paul Sparks as James Gordon Bennett
Will Swenson as Philo Barnum
Fredric Lehne as Benjamin Hallett
Kathryn Meisle as Hannah Hallett
I love the story told in the musical and I love how the characters were written and I love that Hugh Jackman was a handsome Barnum. For his being the first musical Michelle Williams did (at least that I know of), I am a proud fan. She did well.
I am part of the High School Musical generation, but honestly, as time has gone on I don't like Zac Efron as much as I did when I was nine. I do think he did well. Especially since he didn't even sing for his character in the first HSM movie (though he did sing for the other two). He's come a long way and I am proud.

I remember watching the premiere of Shake It Off and being introduced to Zendaya for the first time. I always knew she was talented. But I was truly blown away by how well she did in this movie.
Tracklist of the movie's soundtrack:
1. "The Greatest Show"
2. "A Million Dreams"
3. "A Million Dreams (Reprise)"
4. "Come Alive"
5. "The Other Side"
6. "Never Enough"
7. "This Is Me"
8. "Rewrite the Stars"
10. "Never Enough (Reprise)"
11. "From Now On"
I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS MUSICAL WITH ALL MY SOUL! And the news that there are plans for it to come to Broadway has me HYPED!! I watched this movie again the other day for the sixth time and it has managed to make me cry every single time I watch it.

Honestly, I'll probably watch it again when I get home tonight. I'm listening to the soundtrack as I write it and I just have so much love for this musical. Like no one has any idea. And can I say I wasn't prepared to see Will Swenson as Barnum's father? It was a very nice surprised.
My favorite character is Charles Stratton also known as General Tom Thumb. I think the character was done well, but I also have a real fascination with him as a person. My dad and I actually visited his and Barnum's grave. They're both buried in the same cemetery just a few feet apart.

The Barnum Museum also has a few artifacts regarding Charles Stratton and his wife who is not mentioned in the movie, but he was married.

My least favorite character has to be Charity's father Mr. Hallett. Becuase he didn't need to slap Barnum in that one scene. Also, Philip Carlyle's parents suck.

I actually had the privilege of meeting the actor who played young Barnum, Ellis Rubin at an event at the Barnum Museum.
My favorite song of the whole musical is "The Other Side". I love the song and the whole sequence in the movie. Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron are two talented dudes.

I don't have a least favorite song. I love them all.

I'd rate The Greatest Showman a 32/10 would recommend. It's so good.

If you haven't seen it yet and you enjoy movie musicals, I HIGHLY suggest you watch it.
If you want to see Zac Efron be cute, watch it.
If you like Zendaya, watch it.
IF YOU HAVE EVER FELT LIKE AN OUTSIDER, WATCH IT!!!

I included some songs from the movie throughout the bog. So check them out.

Thanks for reading my post! Tell me what you think of The Greatest Showman if you've seen it. If this post makes you watch it, I am so glad.

Why Blue is the Real Villain of Blue's Big City Adventure

Okay, so maybe "villain" isn't the right word. Blue is more like the antagonist. This post is about the Blues' Clues & You movie Blue's Big City Adventure. So there will be spoilers. If you have Paramount+, it's only an hour watch. I promise it is worth the watch if you have watched Blue's Clues in any capacity. Blue's Big City Adventure poster If you were born in the 90s or early 2000s like me then you most likely watched the original Blue's Clues show hosted by either Steve (Steve Burns) or Joe (Donovan Patton). I have an older and a younger brother, so I got to experience both. However, MY host was Steve, and I am a Steve fan til the day I die. I have Blue's Clues & You playing in the background as I write this post because I realized I haven't watched a single episode of the new series despite watching the movie 6 times. I cannot stress enough how much I love Blue's new design. She looks so much fluffier. The original Blue...

Fangirl Friday: Deleasa

Heyo! Happy Friday! It's that time of the week when I ramble about someone I love! Today's subject is DJ and producer, Deleasa. His name is Mike Deleasa and while I normally refer to my subjects by first name in these posts, I will be referring to him by his stage name, Deleasa. NOW to understand how I became a fan of Deleasa, we have to go all the way back to 2012, when Kevin and Danielle Jonas' reality show, Married to Jonas  premiered. I bet you're wondering what does this guy have to do with the Jonas Brothers? Deleasa is actually Danielle's brother, making him Kevin's brother-in-law. He was featured in the reality show and I ended up falling in love with him. He was actually my parasocial "rebound" from Joe. You can read all about my parasocial breakup with Joe in my Fangirl Friday about him . But enough about the Jonas Brothers. That's not why we're here. Plus I've already written 30k words about them on this blog. However, I am for...

That Time Rod Stewart Found Other Ways of Doing Cocaine

Heyo! Happy Monday! This week's That Time... is a doozy. If you're a classic rock fan or a fan of Rod Stewart, you probably know exactly what this post is about. This one is a short one, but an interesting one. So bear with me. Of course need to put a warning about drug use. There are plenty of other posts that you are more than welcome to check out if this isn't your thing. If you are unfamiliar with Rod Stewart, let me introduce you to the ICON! He's a rockstar who also has a few pop bangers. I grew up with his music and can't remember a time in my life without his music. The first song I think of when he pops into my head is "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?" . I know it's the most basic song of his, but I have fond memories listening to the song on the radio when I was a kid. He's also dabbled in a few bands, but I am more familiar with his solo work than his bands. Though check out his band, Faces. In 2012, Rod released his autobiography, Rod: The A...
