Avenue Q

Today, I am going to see my favorite musical of all time: Avenue Q. It's currently off-Broadway, but I don't care. I get to finally see this show live! I may or may not write a reaction post, we'll see how I feel when I get home. BUT LET'S TALK ABOUT THE SHOW NOW!
If you don't know already, I ranked this show my number one favorite in this post and I wrote about John Tartaglia who was in the original cast in this post. Honestly, I think I can half blame my love for John on this show and half blame it on him being one of the nicest people to actually respond and interact with fans on social media. We are unofficially Twitter best friends and I am the president of his fan club. Get on my level. Joking. Sorry I just get excited when I talk about him. But this post is not about him. It's about Avenue Q.
What can I say about Avenue Q? It's Sesame Street for adults. There is a sex scene between two puppets. The show taught me a German word. It's amazing. The show has helped me cope with taking a semester off of school.

Original Broadway cast:
John Tartaglia as Princeton/Rod
Stephanie D'Abruzzo as Kate Monser/Lucy the Slut
Rick Lyon as Nicky/Trekkie/Bad Idea Bear

9. What Do You Do With a B.A. in English? (Reprise)
10. For Now
The show is about Princeton, who just graduated college with a bachelors degree in English and moves into an apartment on Avenue Q. Gary Coleman is the superintendent of the building. Princeton meets everyone in the neighborhood including Christmas Eve, Brian, Rod, Nicky, Trekkie, and Kate. He sings a song about finding his purpose in life. Trekkie sings about how the internet is for porn. We meet Lucy the Slut. Princeton and Kate sleep together. It is revealed Rod, a closeted republican, has a crush on his roommate and best friend, Nicky. Christmas Eve and Brian get married which is officiated by Gary Coleman. Rod kicks Nicky out for saying he's closeted, even though it's true, but not after singing a song about his fake girlfriend from Canada. Princeton and Kate break up at the wedding and that ends act I. Act II consists of Princeton an Lucy the Slut being a thing. Nicky is homeless. Gary Coleman teaches us a German word for "happiness a the misfortune of others". Some characters reminisce about college. Princeton and friends raise money so Kate can open her own monster school. Rod comes out and Nicky finds him a boyfriend. The show ends on a sort of positive note that nothing lasts forever and the things that suck is only "for now".

And that is my summary of Avenue Q. Before I see it live. I know they've changed some things over the years. Which I'm looking forward to seeing, since I know the original version back and front. Like I've said, his is my FAVORITE musical.
Overall Thoughts:
Favorite Character: Rod/Kate/Trekkie
Least Favorite Character: Mrs. T/Both Bad Idea Bears
Favorite Song: All of them
Least Favorite Song: None, though There's a Fine, Fine Line makes me cry for reasons
Rate Out of 10: 12/10

Yes, "There's a Fine, Fine Line" makes me cry because I relate to Kate Monster on several levels. And the reason Princeton is not one of my favorite characters is because he is not a great guy, honestly. In my opinion, he doesn't deserve Kate Monster, but that's a post for a rainy day.
I'M GOING TO STOP HERE BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO WRITE A LONG POST. In reality it is July 10th at 4:55am and I'm scheduling this for next Friday (the 21st) which is when I'm seeing the show.
I am beyond excited to see it. Even though it's off-Broadway, I am considering this my second Broadway show. Also I have a tiny- the tiniest of tiny- crush on Jason Jacoby who is currently playing Nicky/Trekkie and I really hope he stage doors. And Ben Durocher, who is the current Rod/Princeton (John's original roles) follows John's fanpage Instagram (TartagliaFans, if you want to follow) so I hope he also stage doors. I hope to meet the entire cast, but these two specifically.

Zac Efron and Garrett Clayton are Basically the Same Person

I, a 21-year-old adult, is still a HUGE fan of the High School Musical franchise. In high school, had I been a better planner, I would have asked Lucas Grabeel to be my prom date. And even though I was older than most viewers, I did love Teen Beach Movie when it came out. In this post, I am going to explain how Zac Efron and Garrett Clayton are basically the same person. Let's start at the beginning. You may know Zac Efron as Troy Bolton in the Disney Channel Original Movie (or DCOM), High School Musical and it's franchise. He is the attractive blue-eyed, protagonist of all three HSM movies. And I will admit that I was a huge fangirl for him in my youth. Honestly, now I can't stand him. But that's for another post. Zac portrayed Troy in all three HSM films, but he only sang in the last two. That's right. Zac Efron did not sing in the first HSM movie. That was the amazingly talented Drew Seeley whom I will love till the day I die. Similarly, Garrett Clayton pl

Is Marvin from Falsettos Abusive? And Why is He Such an Easy Character to Hate?

Is Marvin abusive? Short answer: yes. Long answer: You've come to the right place. "I love my tight-knit family. I love the way they cook linguine." Let's get this out of the way, this blog, as all of my blog posts are, is 100% my opinion. Unless stated directly that it is fact, this is all what's going on in my mind. Thoughts from a fangirl, if you will. Also I have to use Spotify to link the songs, because the entire 2016 revival cast album is not on YouTube and I know the revival album better than the original albums. Also this post is going to be long because I'm actually going through actual lines from the musical. I am going to try to sprinkle some photos into this post. "Lovers come and lovers go." Listen to "Marvin Hits Trina" on Spotify. Let's start with the most obvious: Marvin hits Trina after learning that she's going to marry Mendel. Where can you find this scene? In "Marvin Hits Trina". It'

That Time A President Conducted Meetings from the Toilet

Happy Monday! Another week ahead. This week's weird moment from history is how President Lyndon B. Johnson conducted meetings and interviews while on the toilet. I learned way too much about LBJ while doing research for this post and it is going to be a LONG time before I write another weird history post about him. But there will be at least another one in the future. Man was weird. Quick history lesson for my non-Americans who may not know who LBJ is. Lyndon Baines Johnson was the 36th President of the United States. He assumed the position following the assassination of John F. Kennedy. He was president from 1963 til 1969. NOW if you're like me and you grew up with the rewatching the movie Forrest Gump over and over again your first introduction to LBJ might be when Forrest was being honored with the Medal of Honor and showed the president where he was "shot in the buttocks" during the Vietnam War.  I haven't watched Forrest Gump in years, but if you haven't
