My Reaction to Gerard Way's New Song "Getting Down The Germs"

We have been blessed recently with two new songs from Gerard Way. Last month, we got "Baby You're a Haunted House" and this month we have "Getting Down the Germs" and I am beyond ecstatic. You can listen to it below.
Gerard is one of my singers. Following the breakup of My Chemical Romance, I did keep up with him. I absolutely love "Hesitant Alien" and I remember when it came out, how happy I was for new music from Gerard.

Last month "Baby You're a Haunted House" was a treat because no one was ready for it and it is such a bop. And now with "Getting Down the Germs" I am so happy. I found out about it in the car on the way home, but I have finally been able to sit down and listen to it a few times and I love it.

The song has such a chill vibe. There's a whole flute solo that I absolutely love. The sound reminds me of a band, but for some reason, I can't put my finger on which one. Gerard's voice is so nice and soothing. This is a song I can listen to before bed just to unwind.

I absolutely love the song and I cannot wait to see what else Gerard has up his sleeves. He made a post about the song on Instagram that reads:
Hey all, I released a new song today called Getting Down the Germs. It's about a few different things. Grey lights, squirmy worming wiggly worms. Germs. I has flute. I love the flute. I have aways wanted a ong with flute in it. And so this exists. / With these songs I'm releasing, I'm trying to see how many months I can go with putting one out, but there might be skip monhs if we miss deadlines, I dunno, I just want to keep going. The idea behind all of hese songs is to not overthing it. Just go with the first instinct, lead with the art. Keeping a steady flow of creativity going, so you'll here more experiments. This one is a bit different than anything I've done so I was really looking forward to getting it out. I really want to share. / I wrote this song on guitar. I played Fender Telecaster Deluxe. It was springy. It was a good friend. It had a ghost sticker on it now. I laide down the vocals and gitar with Doug McKean at out studio, Milk Friends. Then my good buddy Ray Toro came over to hang out and jam and laid down some sweet bass and drums. Then, our new friend Sara Andon came in and absolutely shredded it on the flute. And last but not least, my lovely and talented wife, Lindsey Way, made some amazing art for it. / I hope you dig it. Crank up that flute!
Seems like we're going to be getting a lot more music from Gerard and I am so excited. In a way, these songs are turning into MCR reunions. Gerard's brother, Mikey Way - who played bass for MCR -  played bass on "Baby You're a Haunted House" and Ray Toro - MCR's lead guitarist - played bass and drums on this song. Maybe if we're lucky, Gerard will do a song with Frank Iero - who played rhythm guitar for MCR - in the future. We'll have to wait and see.

What are your thoughts on the new song? Let me know down in the comments. I think I'm going to be writing about more of his future songs.

Why Blue is the Real Villain of Blue's Big City Adventure

Okay, so maybe "villain" isn't the right word. Blue is more like the antagonist. This post is about the Blues' Clues & You movie Blue's Big City Adventure. So there will be spoilers. If you have Paramount+, it's only an hour watch. I promise it is worth the watch if you have watched Blue's Clues in any capacity. Blue's Big City Adventure poster If you were born in the 90s or early 2000s like me then you most likely watched the original Blue's Clues show hosted by either Steve (Steve Burns) or Joe (Donovan Patton). I have an older and a younger brother, so I got to experience both. However, MY host was Steve, and I am a Steve fan til the day I die. I have Blue's Clues & You playing in the background as I write this post because I realized I haven't watched a single episode of the new series despite watching the movie 6 times. I cannot stress enough how much I love Blue's new design. She looks so much fluffier. The original Blue...

Fangirl Friday: Deleasa

Heyo! Happy Friday! It's that time of the week when I ramble about someone I love! Today's subject is DJ and producer, Deleasa. His name is Mike Deleasa and while I normally refer to my subjects by first name in these posts, I will be referring to him by his stage name, Deleasa. NOW to understand how I became a fan of Deleasa, we have to go all the way back to 2012, when Kevin and Danielle Jonas' reality show, Married to Jonas  premiered. I bet you're wondering what does this guy have to do with the Jonas Brothers? Deleasa is actually Danielle's brother, making him Kevin's brother-in-law. He was featured in the reality show and I ended up falling in love with him. He was actually my parasocial "rebound" from Joe. You can read all about my parasocial breakup with Joe in my Fangirl Friday about him . But enough about the Jonas Brothers. That's not why we're here. Plus I've already written 30k words about them on this blog. However, I am for...

That Time Rod Stewart Found Other Ways of Doing Cocaine

Heyo! Happy Monday! This week's That Time... is a doozy. If you're a classic rock fan or a fan of Rod Stewart, you probably know exactly what this post is about. This one is a short one, but an interesting one. So bear with me. Of course need to put a warning about drug use. There are plenty of other posts that you are more than welcome to check out if this isn't your thing. If you are unfamiliar with Rod Stewart, let me introduce you to the ICON! He's a rockstar who also has a few pop bangers. I grew up with his music and can't remember a time in my life without his music. The first song I think of when he pops into my head is "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?" . I know it's the most basic song of his, but I have fond memories listening to the song on the radio when I was a kid. He's also dabbled in a few bands, but I am more familiar with his solo work than his bands. Though check out his band, Faces. In 2012, Rod released his autobiography, Rod: The A...
